A specialist contractor has now provided costings to undertake the bulk of the overhaul for the bogie sets, (in addition to costings already obtained for re-tyring). Including re-tyring, wheelset overhaul and manufacture of new springs, the estimated costs are £325k per bogie, so a total project value of £650k, including contingencies.

A good meeting was held in Staffordshire with a new potential contractor on Tuesday, 11th January 2022. A further meeting will be held at Kidderminster TMD, after which a quotation for the project should be received in Spring 2022.
